In the last month or so Low Rent Renaissance Blog
has done a series on deconstructing a mobile home:
Deconstructing a Mobile Home (Part Three),
Deconstructing a Mobile Home (Part Four), and
Deconsctructing a Mobile Home (Part Five).
Deconstructing a Mobile Home (Part Four), and
Deconsctructing a Mobile Home (Part Five).
Well, recently we were at El Dorado Hot Springs in Arizona
and they have been deconstructing a number of old mobile homes
and reusing the materials.
Above is a shed they constructed from lumber from the floor, walls, and roof.
The shed is clad in the metal from the roof and sides.
I love a shed,
and what could be better than a shed from recycled materials?
Above, the roof is framed from roof trusses
from the former mobile home.
And Dee (the main "deconstructer")
made this nice screened in porch for the manager's trailer.
All the wood was from the walls and floor of the mobile home.
While we were there we were working on forms
for a new stone and concrete tub,
and yes the forms and braces are from wall studs
and plywood from the floor.
Reduce, reuse, and recycle!
Next time I will tell you about that tub.
