A Solar House

We had a chance to stop by our friends Katie and Andrew's
solar house at their urban farm in the bosque.
Theirs is a combination of passive solar space heating
and solar photovoltaic panels for making electricity.

Constructing A Mortared Stone Wall

When we were in San Carlos, Sonora this past winter
we would often go by where this fine gentleman
was working on this nice stone wall.

Paolo Soleri Amphitheater

Since I have covered Paolo Soleri's work at Arcosanti on April 4th and Cosanti on April 16th in this blog after we had visited there back in March it was with some interest that I saw an article in the Santa Fe New Mexican  newspaper this morning on the attempt to save the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater in Santa Fe. Take a look.

A little over ten years ago we were finishing up an addition
on our first house in Santa Fe, New Mexico
and the last thing was a bathroom next to the upstairs bedroom.

The Tile House In Albuquerque, New Mexico

We have been in Albuquerque lately looking at real estate
when we drove by the tile house.
I had heard about it years ago
but it is more dramatic and beautiful than I had imagined.
We were only able to see it from the street
but I may try to get in some day and do a more detailed post.
For now check out the link for a little background.
Click on the tab for the Tile House.

Shipping Container Buildings

When we were in Santa Fe, New Mexico yesterday we happened
to notice this building made from shipping containers in the Baca St.
end of the rail yards project.
