Paolo Soleri Amphitheater

Since I have covered Paolo Soleri's work at Arcosanti on April 4th and Cosanti on April 16th in this blog after we had visited there back in March it was with some interest that I saw an article in the Santa Fe New Mexican  newspaper this morning on the attempt to save the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater in Santa Fe. Take a look.

Gila Resources Information Project

We are currently in Silver City, New Mexico and just became aware that GRIP ( Gila Resources Information Project ) had a section of their web site devoted to  sustainability and green design. Just scroll down the page to the tabs on sustainability and sustainably built homes and click on for a tour. These are some nice homes and give a good over view of green building techniques. There is a lot going on in this area in alternative building and this web page was put together for last years Viva Verde Conference that was organized by GRIP. This is a great group of people working on a grass roots effort to protect the area and its environment.

Notes on Building a Drystack Stone Wall

I spent many years as a self taught stone mason starting in Virginia and then in New Mexico. My specialty was random rubble dry stack walls. My style and technique are fairly unique and it is work that I just loved even though it took a toll on my body as a result of my own enthusiasm.
