With winter coming on it seems like a good time 

to look at some passive solar heating options.

These are all in northern New Mexico.

 Now is time to look at that again here at the very end of a cold November.

A Small Backyard Pond

Now I want to show you their very nice and very small backyard pond.

 so it must be a good time to talk about rain water harvesting.

We just went to the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens ( above ) 

and being the time of year I started thinking about container gardening.

While most people are thinking of gardening outdoors

 it is also a great time to get ready to garden next winter.

We have recently been in Albuquerque, New Mexico

 visiting our friends Susie and her partner Ray.

 Susie has lived in this house for over twenty years

 transforming it into an urban energy efficient oasis 

while raising her two children.
