I have posted on the ceramic art of Cecilia Stanford before
(Tile Mosaic) without knowing that she had done the work
and when I finally realized her name she generously invited Allison and I over
to meet and see her home and studio.
She lives and works in a former lumber yard
and upon driving up the first thing you notice is this metal and ceramic sculpture.
A taste of what is to come.
Even the balusters are a colorful ceramic.
Step into her house...
...and you are greeted by her work.
This wall is right by the front door.
What better use for these relics that were once ashtrays;
remember them?
I particularly like the 3-D dimension.
Next time I will take a look at her studio.
