Thorncrown Chapel, Eureka Springs, Ark.

Before we leave the Eureka Springs, Arkansas area I want to include
the Thorncrown Chapel which is on the edge of town.
The website has a nice virtual tour.

It was design by architect Fay Jones, a professor at the University of Arkansas,
and built by Jim Reed in 1980.

Its innovative design has won numerous awards.
Despite the complex structural design
there is also a soothing simplicity in the space.

I see a bit of Frank Lloyd Wright influence here.
These lights and the front door give me some nice design ideas.

The interplay of wood and stone blend in well
with the site which sits on top of a tree covered hill.
