In the last post we looked at water features at Stone Forest,

now let's take a look at some more of their beautiful stonework,

starting with the front entry gate to the display gardens.

I love working with stone and I love carved stone,

but I have never been a stone carver;

 but in our travels around Mexico in the last couple of years we

 have run across some beautiful work that I would like to share.

Art Walk Through Arroyo Seco, N.M.- Metal And Clay

When the weather gets hot it is nice to head up to Arroyo Seco 

a few miles northeast of Taos on the way to the Taos Ski Valley 

and cool off.

Although the business above seemed closed

 I really like the metal work in the sign.

Garden Sculpture

This being the time of year to be in the garden

 I thought it would be nice to look at sculpture for the garden.

Above Don Quixote and Sancho Panza 

are still riding in Guanajuato, Guanajuato.

Not being a metal worker (one of the few trades I have not dabbled in much)

 I have done very little with metal work in this blog.

Let's look at some metal sculpture now.

We found the above piece in Bisbee, Arizona.

An Artist's Home

We have been camping near the tiny town of Pilar, 

about 20 miles south of Taos, in northern New Mexico recently.

Stone Descanso

Recently we were driving between Ojo Caliente and El Rito

 in northern New Mexico, when we stopped to photograph 

this descanso which had been placed here to memorialize some one 

who had apparently died in an auto accident at this spot.

Tile Mosaic

I saw this very nice tile mosaic

 in Silver City, N.M. the other day.

More Stone Carving In Mexico

On our way back from Mexico we stopped at this stone yard, 

Canteras Guadalajara, in Imuris, Sonora 

just about 40 miles south of Nogalos, Arizona.
