The Annual Mudding Of The St. Francis De Asis Church In Ranchos De Taos, N.M.-Part 2

Please refer to the last post:
to follow along with the annual remudding
of this famous church by a strong community of parishioners and neighbors.

Just last summer a service was held here for Dennis Hopper
before he was laid to rest in Taos.

Nine Wacky Examples Of Container Architecture

While looking through Co.Design (see the previous post) I also noticed the article Nine Wacky Examples Of Container Architecture. My previous posts on container building have been my most popular by far so I want to include this for all those fans of containers.

Diebedo Francis Kere's Earthen Architecture

I want to point out the post in Earth Architecture
the blog of architect Ron Rael,
(which you may notice on the right side bar of this blog under Blogs I Follow)
about the work of Diebedo Francis Kere in Burkina Faso.
The post links to the article
which is found in Co.Design

Take a look.

The next three posts will be on this adobe church

Garden Sculpture

This being the time of year to be in the garden
I thought it would be nice to look at sculpture for the garden.

Above Don Quixote and Sancho Panza
are still riding in Guanajuato, Guanajuato.

Living Arts Institute In Crestone, Colorado

Allison noticed a flyer posted in the Taos Cow in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico this morning for Living Arts Institute in Crestone, Colorado. They have an interesting list of courses and workshops but I don't know much more about them. See what you think.

A Concrete And Tile Pool

A couple of months ago I did two posts on building
a concrete pool at El Dorado Hot Springs in Arizona:

While I am in Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico
I have been watching my friend Ken build a tiled concrete pool
for soaking for another take on the concept.

Gimme Shelter

I just saw this on Lloyd's Blog
which you may notice on the right side bar under Blogs I Follow.

Since it is about shelter I thought it might also pertain to alternative building.

Enjoy.
